NAILED: @MelodyDarlene

i know you guys have been waiting for another NAILED victim, well here she is miss. melody darlene. i found her through my homie, he suggested that i ask her to be the next person to be NAILED. so i peeped her style and her blog and thought to myself she's pretty fuckin dope let me hit her up asap with an invitation. she was humbled over the fact that i wanted to feature her on SECTION-ATE. we exchanged info through gmail i asked her to tell me a little bit about her and her nails and this is what she said...

I've been getting my nails "did" (please note that there is a difference between getting your nails "done" and getting your nails "DID" you feeeeel me) since before it became an uber-trend. Now that more people have made it a habit, it's important for me not to pick a design from a book. I'll go into the nail shop, pick out the colors I want and let my nail lady just go to work. It's more fun when it's off the dome and she just kind of does what she's feeling at the moment, not to mention this is HER art form so I have full faith in whatever she comes up with. However, sometimes I'll have an idea in my head of what I want or a theme I'm trying to work with and I'll direct her a little, which is what I did with my most recent nails. I usually do free hand nail painting, but occasionally if I want something more abstract I'll do airbrushing, or if I'm really feeling myself (and my wallet) I'll get real crazy with it and do the ribbons, feathers, and allathat underneath the nail. But don't get it twisted, it is important to let your nails breathe, so from time to time I'll take a month's break and just let my natural nails see light. As far as influences, I don't really have any when it comes to my nails... I just do it because it adds a little extra attitude, a little extra something, to ones persona! I want to end with this...
